Close your eyes and imagine you have not seen ever since the world and yourself. You will not have an idea with what it looks like when you only feel it.

It is been a fact that about 90% of the world's visually impaired people live in developing countries and 80% of all blindness can be prevented or cured. In developing countries there is lack of good ophthalmologists or if there are some, people don’t have capacity to pay for it.

Today we will show 8 apps to help this kind of people to use smartphone easily.

1. Blind Shot

Blind Shot is a camera application that allows you to take pictures and record videos without being noticed.

 

Blind Shot is one of the first apps to take advantage of this new capability. If you want to snap pictures without alerting half the neighborhood, this app is for you. Not only is the sound muted, and flash disabled when you take a photo using Blind Shot, there isn’t even a preview screen to go with the app, and that is why if someone takes a cursory look at your WP7′s screen from over your shoulder, you won’t be caught in your Paparazzi pursuits.

2. Go.With.Me

Go.With.Me is an application that helps you stay safe.

 

Describe where you are going, snap a quick picture, and tell the program when you are expected to return.  If your Event expires without your cancelling it, notification messages will be sent out on your behalf.

3. ColorBlindnessTest

The test is made up of a series of circles comprising many small colored dots, called Ishihara Plates. Certain colored dots within each circle combine to form a number or pattern – the ability to correctly determine the number or pattern reveals whether or not a person may be color blind.

 

The Ishihara Color test is a test to determine if a patient has color blindness. It was named after Dr. Shinobu Ishihara who first published the test in 1917 as a professor at the University of Tokyo.

5. Touch Meds

The Touchmeds App can assist in the scheduling, tracking and monitoring of medication for patients. We help patients to take the right amount of the right medicine at the right time.

 

Simply tap the windows phone to the NFC tag attached with medicine package, the App will popup the medicine’s details page and the information is read out using Text to Speech. It is also a standalone medicine managment App without NFC tag.

6. Braille and Braille Translator

Learn simple Braille. The app will show you the alphabet in Braille. You can also create a simple phrase in Braille

Braille Translator is a simple way to convert to and from Braille notation. In the decode section, you’ll see the letter/number translation for the current dots as well as the possible letters and numbers you could form by adding additional dots. The reference portion helps to convert back to Braille notation.

 

Learn simple Braille. The app will show you the alphabet in Braille. You can also create a simple phrase in Braille. Braille Translator is being offered as a separate application for those who don’t wish to purchase the full suite.

7. FACE VALUE

This app will recognize US Dollar bills (paper money) and announce the denomination via voice in addition to displaying it on the screen

 

Just point your phone's camera 10 inches or so (25 cm) from the face printed on your dollar bill and after a short moment your phone will tell what bill is laying in front of the camera!

This app is perfect for visually impaired and blind people who need help in everyday dealings with paper US dollar bills.
