If you’ve got a kid, you’ve probably noticed that they often usurp your smartphone in order to play Angry Birds (or at least, that’s what I hear). Personally, I hate people using my devices to play games because then I end up missing out on a significant chunk of the game. Fortunately, there’s a bunch of apps dedicated to children which might keep them from invading your favourite games.

1.First Words: Learning Animals

Education is important, and the First Words series is a great tool to help younger children learn the names of animals. First Words: Learning Animals allows children to explore a selection of animals, learning it’s name through anagrams and sound.

The interface of First Words: Learning Animals is very simple, with cute cartoons and inputs that are tailored to young children’s fingers.

In the full version, children will be able to learn the names of 38 animals and their habitats.
